Iran reopens UF-6 factory after 9 years

TEHRAN, Jun. 27 (MNA) – Iran reopened an important nuclear fuel factory after 9 years, as the Leader had ordered the AEOI to reopen some closed centers in retaliation for Trump’s pullout from the JCPOA.

After being closed for 9 years, the UF-6 factory in Iranian central city of Isfahan came on stream on Wed. after the first barrel of yellowcake, also known as natural uranium, was fed to the factory.

The UF-6 factory in the Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) in Isfahan had to shut down after coming up short of yellowcake in 2011. Following the signing and implementation of the nuclear deal, which allowed the import as well as production of yellowcake in Iran, the factory could get back on track.

After US unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear agreement, the Iranian Leader issued an official decree ordering the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to re-open some parts of the nuclear industry in Iran, which would be still within the framework of the JCPOA.
